Species: Epidares nolimetangere (PSG 99).

Common Name: Touch-Me-Not Stick Insect.

Size:  Maximum: Males, 3.5cm. Females, 4.5cm.

Breeding: Sexual, can be parthenogenetic without males.

Eggs: These will be laid in to a pot of sand or peat. A depth of 5cm is usually sufficient.

Food: Bramble, Oak.

Humidity: Medium. Spray once every two or three days.

Comments: A lovely compact, stout and small insect, with up to 8 large spines. They are brown (female) or brown to reddish (male). Very easy to handle and fast. They have the ability to be very clingy and can sometimes make themselves hard to be removed. This species is very inquisitive and impossible to keep still. Make sure that they are kept in a sealed container when they are being cleaned out, as the males have a habit of wandering off and being difficult to find.
