Size: Maximum: Females,
12cm.
Breeding:
Parthenogenetic (females only).
Eggs: This species will
lay several hundred eggs, which are either dropped
or catapulted to the floor. A high hatch rate can be
observed with a percentage up to 80%. Between 3 and
5 eggs will be laid per day. Hatching takes 2 to 4
months.
Food: Bramble.
Humidity: Spray lightly
every two or three days. Can be longer.
Comments: An easy
species to keep for the beginner. It is larger than
the Indian stick insect, has very long legs and are
green throughout their life cycle. They have a small
‘spine’ on the underside of the second to last
segment of their abdomen.
