Species: Pylaemenes guangxiensis (No PSG).
Common Name: None
Size: Maximum: A mainly females species,
5cms as adults.
Breeding: Parthenogenetic
Eggs: Hatch in approximately 4 to 5 months, 75%
success rate.
Food: Bramble.
Humidity: Medium to High, mist twice per week.
Comments: A very hardy species that move only at
night. They will normally 'play dead' if handled.
The young hatch out at 1cm long and you can expect a 90% plus
survival rate. They will take around 12 months to reach
adult hood and will live for a further 12 to 18 months as
adults.
This species belong to the same family as Heteropteryx
Dilatata and enjoy much the same conditions. They will
require a pot of peat to bury their ova in, although I have used
moist tissue so that I can locate the ova easily.
